Centralpoint supports custom development of our modules and integration with third party systems.Oxcyon can provide you custom development services, or provide you with the training to do it yourself. Whether you create them, or we do...you will want to maintain harmony with all of your other content types. We have a number of different methods. First of all, any new modules, or alterations to our out of the box modules, are excluded from our weekly synch. This guarantees that your local development efforts will not or never will interfere with our support of the product.
Easily Append to Existing Modules
This features allows you to modify our existing out of the box modules, adding to it any number of fields so that you can still use out of the box modules, but cater to your specific fields. For an example, if you wanted to add 23 unique fields to our Physician Directory module, you can easily by simply by downloading and re-uploading a modified XML document, and within minutes have an out of the box module modified just the way you need it.
From this point forward our data warehousing tools know to work with these fields, and so does Module Designer which lets you lay this module out any way you want to, field by field. Oxcyon provides an XML Schema download for each of our modules. Simply add your needed fields and reupload, and you have yourself a customized module specifically designed around the fields you need to manage.
Custom Module Development
Your local development team is free to create new modules from scratch within Centralpoint. We call these MyModules, simply because anything you create, that we don't is excluded from our weekly update. We can still advise and support these modules, but they are not one of ours, nor would we have access to your local module at all.
Integration of third party code (not a Centralpoint module)
Your development team can easily slide over any existing code which was done prior to purchasing Centralpoint. This would be the many web based applications, coded in whatever language, which simply needs to live in the root of Centralpoint, so that we can reference and call to it. This allows you to embed third party applications, without having to use dreaded iFrames, to show your content from other applications, in line with Centralpoint
Centralpoint API
Oxcyon will further provide you with APIs, and class libraries to call and reference any of your third party data within Centralpoint any way you would like without having to conform to any of our rules. This lets you talk directly to our database, and vice versa to bring it all together into a composite which makes sense for your users.
Web Services Editor
Finally, utilizing web services, you can show live content from other system, in line with the content found in our portals. This allows you to properly authenticate a user, and once logged in, serve live data to them from other systems within the framework of Centralpoint. With this approach you can easily reformat your raw data any way you want to harmonize the presentation in line with the content we need to present.
The Web Services editor allows you to call to data outside of Centralpoint, but design and present it just like you would our modules. This allows you to serve a variety of content in line for your users, based on their individual roles, without hiring a small army of programmers to do the job.
