Purpose
The Homepage Stylesheets Module allows you to manage the layout and rules over your homepage for the main portal site, as well as individual records for each of your Audience Type or Sub Sites (2nd and/or third tier portlets within the main portal).
Description
Homepage stylesheets allow you to manage content within your homepage, whether it is 100% static content (HTML), 100% Dynamic (records serving to the homepage from a variety of modules), or both; giving you control over static HTML, in line with other dynamic content areas (Hybrid).
This versatile tool allows the most subjective part of your site to be managed in any way that you need to. Oxcyon offers over 100 pre-defined dynamic stylesheet templates to choose from, but often you will want your own custom programmed. These stylesheets can be programmed by Oxcyon for your team, or by your in-house IT staff. MyStylesheets enables your team to copy from existing template stylesheets, change and re-save to meet your specific need.
How To Use
Under the Design tab of your Client Console, you will find a module called Homepage Stylesheets. Clicking on new will allow you to create a new stylesheet. Simply enter the template number (number of the stylesheet you would like to use), or HTML, or both in the case of hybrid (Dynamic and HTML) and submit.
Each of your sites within your portal can maintain different homepages. Another module to familiarize yourself with would be Script Generator (also within the Design tab of your Client Console) that will allow you obtain scripts for dynamic content, which can be applied within the HTML portion of this module. In this way, you can obtain scripts (Example: Top 10 News, or Top 8 Articles) and control how they will display within your site.
Tips About This Module
Individual Homepage stylesheets can be managed for different member types within your site. For an example, if you want to welcome 'Private' members to your site....after log in, you can manage a separate homepage for private members vs. public members....serving different content to your site visitors depending on their rights to your site.
Additionally, the dynamic stylesheets and references to dynamic scripts, serve by specific Audience Type and/or Site...meaning that a dynamic stylehsheet can be 're-used' across multiple sites, but still show different records to different sites, based on how those records are submitted in the first place. (Example: Main Site may show ALL news, or only news tagged to the main site, but within an audience type homepage, you will see only news tagged to that audience type).
