Purpose
This module was developed around the demand for webmasters to have a search-able library of images and multimedia files (Accessible only within the Client Console) in which to reference for site management purposes.
Description
This module allows you to update and manage your organization's own image/multimedia gallery (Images and Flash based items), from the Client Console only. This tool works in unison with Design:: Image Library, acting as the search and preview window for Image Library (which is where these images are uploaded in the first place).
Images or flash uploaded within the Image library, associated to taxonomy and keywords, allow your team to search a centralized image repository within the Client Console to find the image, logo or flash item they are looking for. It is rarely used by small to mid-sized companies, but is a handy tool for larger organizations who need to manage many images within their site, complete with notes, rules, and regulations around their use.
How To Use
First, it is important to note that this module is dependent on another module called Image Library, found in the Design tab of your Client Console. Images uploaded within the Image Library appear within this search-able window.
To use this module, go to Image library, and add a new record. During your content entry, it will ask you to upload the image or flash file (the width and height of your flash, if flash), including keywords, and taxonomy. (To change the taxonomy list for Image Library see Taxonomy types, whereas you can create your own metadata keyword list in which to categorize your records). Simply submit your content within Image Library, and it will then be searchable and view-able within 'Browse Image library'
Tips About This Module
The link to Browse Image Library (which can be obtained by clicking on it, and then right clicking over the search window and selecting properties) can be linked to the front end of your website, or to a private area within your website to give (non-web-editing) members access to this section.
Some of the taxonomy types generally used within this module would include (but not be limited to) Logos, Wallpaper, Affiliates, Approved Images for Website, Approved Images for Print, etc.) to give you some idea on how to build a taxonomy type around a robust image gallery for your business.
