Purpose
Site Properties provide over 300 optional settings to let you set your site up exactly the way you want to. These are subtle adjustments and options that allow you to turn certain functions on and off within your site. From the width of your site to the go button used on your site search...site properties act as the 'fine tuning' knob for your site.
Description
Site Properties let clients customize the structure of their site without having to turn to a developer to do so. Lets say a client wanted to change the width of their site (globally), or adjust the alignment or padding found in the navigation. Site Properties are a constantly growing list of settings that let you control the site. Each site property is provided to you with a default setting. This would be the default value based on what is a safe bet. For site width this would be 799 pixels for an example. If you wanted to change it to 850 or 100%...you can do so in Site Properties.
How To Use
Site Properties is found under the Admin category of your Client console. Click on it and you will see pages of possible site properties. All sites are delivered with the latest list...and each week this list grows. You will want to read your update emails and periodically check back to see what new properties have arrived (search by posting date to see the latest). Because there are so many, you will want to search by the topic you are looking for. Perhaps you want to see all site properties relative to ARTICLES. Search 'article'....or maybe you want to see all that pertain to email broadcast search 'email'. In this way you can explore and see what options there are for you to change.
Simply change the value to whatever option you would like and submit. Once you do, your changes will be applied. Be sure to remember which ones you are changing....and if things do not work out the way you like, simply change the value back to the default and so will the site.
