Centralpoint is developed in C#, and operates in a Microsoft .NET environment, running SQL2005. Prior to the .NET release, Centralpoint's previous version (circa 2001) was coded in COM, VB. Centralpoint has always had the ability to be updated weekly, and has enjoyed over 460 updates, which continues to improve upon a great idea. Our original clients signed in 2001, have enjoyed these updates improving their web strategy as we learn from other newer clients. We provide our clients full access to the code, and root directory of their project, but retain control over the higher level technology which provides for remote updates. It is this uber layer, which houses new tools, and manages the pull update from our client installations all over the world.
Oxcyon's patent applications deal with rapid application of web projects, and the classification of information within a web project. Our development of web projects is unique, as it is based on a replication technology which allows us to rapidly deploy, yet maintain the ability to update the project's code and database structure, wherever it may be hosted. The second deals with classification which utilizes mPHC, or Multiple Polyhierarchical Classification. In other words, multiple classification fields which empower clients to manage an N-Tiered family of websites, content types, roles, and users, all under different domains.
Abstract: A method for providing a polyhierarchical classification includes identifying properties of objects useful for distinguishing objects under classification. A plurality of criteria is identified for specializing the identified properties. A form is chosen for attributive expressions that describe classification categories. The attributive expressions are customizable and encode compositions of object properties in terms of attributes from the plurality of criteria. A domain of applicability is identified for each criterion that is representable by attributive expressions, and a dependence relationship between criteria is defined by the inclusion of attributes in the attributive expressions, where a selected criterion depends on another criterion if its domain of applicability includes at least one attribute by the other criterion. A generating polyhierarchy of criteria is automatically established by the dependence relationships between the criteria. The generating polyhierarchy of criteria implicitly defines an induced polyhierarchy of classification categories. In other words, how to classify one record to cascade through many distribution channels, under multiple taxonomies, ending up at the user level, served specifically by their role.
Centralpiont has provided hundreds of weekly updates over the years, resulting in a segmentation of modules by industry type. Today, Centralpoint offers modules which are horizontal to all industries, and many specifically for Healthcare, Publishing, Government, Non Profit, E-Commerce, and Email Broadcasting. Custom client modules may also be managed within this core family, but are excluded from global update, and are only updated to those client servers who have requested them.
