Why does data mining belong on the same platform as retrieval and AI?

Because the patterns mining finds become inputs to AI. An AI assistant that knows which clauses are anomalous, which vendors are concentrated, or which records are duplicates can give materially better answers. Bolting on a separate mining tool loses that integration.
