• The Centralpoint Members module is the container in which we store registered users' information and personalized interests. Though Centralpoint supports authentication with other systems, including LDAP/AD, we still believe the Members module is necessary. Think about this: There are several different members to your site. Take for instance existing clients. You may want to authenticate existing clients with your client database through Global Login. But what about prospective clients? Here Centralpoint Members can be used for the 'not yet a full bonafide member' status (like on boarding a new employee 'candidate'. Once they are made an employee (for an example), we would later authenticate them through AD.

• Error Reporting is managed in two locations, first within the Client Console of each individual Centralpoint Portal and also at the Uber Console, by Oxcyon. 

• Error Reporting within Client Console
  Here, Centralpoint's Custom Error Messages equip the web site's web.config file and Global.asax file to handle custom errors. When an error occurs within the application, the Global.asax determines if the error is an HTTP error and then manages it accordingly. This feature requires custom errors to be turned on in the web.config file. For example, if the current error is a 404 error and a 404 Redirect record exists with an Original URL value that matches the URL on which the error originated, the user wi..., This tool can be found under the Development section within the Client Console, under 'Utilities'. Log in the Client Console, click on development, and search for this tool within this page. You can also ask your production manager to turn on the 'Tools' section of your client console. When this is done, each tool will appear individually within the console, for easy access.
  
  Error Reporting (Monitoring) by Oxcyon (Across all environments)
  A large part of the Evergreen Updates, involve listening and responding to any anomalies of any Centralpoint installation to allow Oxcyon Development to improve the technology. This means Error Reporting (or listening) to all Centralpoint installations. When any new anomaly is recognized, This allows Oxcyon to remedy issues (before they are even known by clients), and also to study any patterns over a period of time, improving our Updates.
  
  First, not all exceptions are errors. Many exceptions are common and unavoidable.  For example, view state errors occur when a web site changes between post backs.  This could be as simple as a client console submission.  In other cases, clients may have developed custom code in a site and refused to address the issues that were reported to them.  These errors relate to unavoidable circumstances and are therefore do not require review.  The sync will then deliver code that prevents that error from being reported to Uber in the future.  If an error has occurred in the past and has been deemed a correct response to the problem it will also be excluded from reporting.
  
  Once an error has been determined to be of value for review it is categorized by the web site itself.  Many errors fall into common categories like connection issues, email send failures, or timeout exceptions.  The contents of the error is parsed to determine whether it fits into one of these categories and grouped accordingly.  If the error does not fall into one of these categories the system generates a category based upon the type of error and the stack trace.  The highest level Centralpoint function that was involved in the error is combined with the datatype of the error to generate a unique category for that error.  Each time the same error is sent to Uber it will contain the same category regardless of which site returned the error.  In Centralpoint this category is called internally an Error Code Key (ECK). This allows Oxcyon to study similar exceptions (across different installations) to establish patterns.
  
  Oxcyon’s Uber console’s Errors module is used to maintain and manage all errors from all masters and web sites as they occur.  These errors are categorized using the ECK.  In some cases, these errors trigger emails or requests for immediate action.  The module also allows Oxcyon’s engineers to regularly review the activity occurring on web sites and look for patterns.  If a large number of the same ECK is reported within a short period of a time an email notification is triggered and sent to the Oxcyon’s engineers and the administrator of that web site.
  

  All errors are reviewed on daily basis, In many cases, these errors are just being reviewed to determine patterns.  If numerous exceptions occur on a server or site at repeating time periods or intervals, a ticket is automatically sent to the (Network) administrator of that web site to determine whether any long running processes may be affecting the performance at that time.  Other times these errors will include information that indicate unwanted ‘bot’ traffic may be spidering a site and may be making invalid requests or should be blocked.  Often times, these errors are used to identify fishing attempts and prevent issues like cross site scripting (XSS) or SQL Injection.

  These errors also often point out minor issues in the system.  Maybe an unusual occurrence of events can lead to an error that didn’t come up during testing.  The errors themselves include a detailed description of the request that lead to the error.  Often these details can be used to reproduce a problem, and a patch is developed and deployed in the next sync.  Clients may find issues and report them, but this module finds the errors that nobody reports.  Many times the Oxcyon’s engineers will discover errors that are infrequent and unreported for months or years.  Each time they occur they are reviewed and notes are added to the system.  Eventually, a solution is found and a patch is deployed in the next sync.  Rigorously executing this process for over 10 years has led to a very clean, trustworthy, and secure architecture, and it is improved with every sync.

  Another tool that is often used for site reviews is the Development > Process Log module.  This exists in all master and client consoles.  When additional investigation is necessary related to issues on a server the Process Log is used to review all of the unattended long running processes that executed on any web site on that server.  When a web sites starts a long running process it executes in the master instead of the web site itself to take some of the stress off of the web site.  The master is on the same server so the server itself does experiences some stress.  This module can be used to determine what is running and when, how long it ran, and whether any errors occurred during the execution.  Long running processes are typically scheduled and can be things like data transfers, email broadcasts, or site synchronization.

  Oxcyon’s engineers are also working on a new master console feature called the Health Monitor which will take this process to the next level (expected to be released Q2/2018).  The health monitor is being developed to attach itself to running processes and determine problems in pages and applications that are not returning errors.  For example, an administrator may have a report that is being generated on a regular basis.  The Health Monitor will attach itself to each process and create a report of the real time activity occurring in each web site.  It will provide information like the longest running pages, average request length, and total number of requests, and sometimes even which methods are running the longest on the page.  This tool combined with error reporting will take issue avoidance and resolution to the next level.

These new features and functions are released after careful (Agile & Waterfall Pre Release testing by Oxcyon), but even then they are distributed to clients with a default setting of 'OFF' allowing the client to activate or invoke any new feature/function, given a tiered 'Development, QA testing process interally, prior to activating on the live (client) production site. The interface displays live charts indicating performance peaks, spikes, and early detection of any processes placing unusually high demands on your environment.

This change was requested to resolve issues caused by unique navigation items with the same value in the Title attribute.
  • The Advertising / Sponsored Keywords implementation has been updated to support keywords that exist in an elements data and child elements. Previously, this situation could cause invalid replacements within element attributes.
  • The web site backup, restore, and deployment features of the master console have been updated to support system name validation and the sync number contained in the version number. The cpsys_Execute SQL Login Server Roles have also been modified to include the dbcreator to repair a bug in the web site restore function.
  • The resource HttpHandler has been updated to remove reusability and enable output caching. This should reduce the number of client disconnect errors that occur.
  • Previous caching issues in the the RelatedData CpScript required changes to the data retrieval implementation. These changes caused the sort order feature to stop working. The sort order feature of related data has been repaired to work with the new data retrieval method.
  • Design / Styles / Navigation / Navigation Type / Only Display Selected has been re-implemented. Previously, it only displayed children of the currently selected navigation item regardless of its location in the tree. It now works like Open When Selected, except once a first tier navigation item has been selected it does not show first tier items and only shows descendants of the currently selected first tier item. It is an Open When Selected navigation excluding the first tier navigation once a first tier navigation has been selected.
  • The master console scheduled tasks timeout value has been increased to 1 hour. Scheduled tasks running longer than 1 hour will fail to complete.
  • The RelatedData cp:control used in Site Architecture / Module Designer has a new property called Filter. This property is a little tricky to use but is documented in the module designer help file. The purpose is to retrieve related records over a subset of a modules data.
  • Three new user controls have been developed for use in the Marketplace module suite, but can be included in any future module development. They include InquiryCheckBox, InquiryButton, and InquirySelectAll which are all documented in the Module Designer help file. These controls are specifically designed for use in Site Architecture / Module Designer / Results View (#2) when the module has implemented an Inquiry Basket.
  • Advertising & Advertising / Advertisers
  • The execution of these elements has been moved later in the page lifecycle to support their dependency on data populated during post back. This includes search results and taxonomy selections. This change may cause unexpected results in the page display and functions, therefore, this module should be monitored closely.
  • The Page Type attribute has a new option called “Taxonomy Specific”. This option allows you to select the module (Site Architecture / Module Designer) and Taxonomy on which you would like the advertisement to display. This is based on the taxonomy selected via a category view (Home View) module search (Results View) or the current document (Details View). Clients with a custom Module Configuration or Properties submitted via the client console for these modules may require changes to make the Taxonomy attribute visible and multi-select. This change requires a complete rebuild and repopulation of the relation for this module during the next sync. Clients with a large amount of data in these modules should monitor the next sync closely.
  • A bug in the editor control caused the “Media” icon to display even when the editor did not allow resources. This problem has been resolved and when an editor does not allow resources the “Media” icon is replaced with the Image, Flash, Media, and Document Manager icons which can be used for file uploads.

There are three ways to access the Media Manager module: Console navigation, file upload, or the RTF editor resource manager link. Resources selected using the RTF editor and file upload are tracked. • Centralpoint supports a variety of RTF (Rich Text Formatting) commonly used vendors. The default version is made by Telerik, but our clients can use whichever RTF editor dujour they prefer. Properties allow you to control which features are available to your administrators. In the case of leveraged style sheets -- where most of the formatting is completed -- you may wish to limit the amount of RTF controls users have to manage their content. Therefore, this module was developed to modify the RTF Editor settings and defaults. Making changes in this module will effect all RTF Editors across the site. This default editor, including all of its functions is the Telerik editor, but you are free to use any RTF editor you wish. Centralpoint is agnostic, and able to change as these RTF editors improve, giving you agnostic control over which one you choose to use. Since there are so many features (options) within the Telerik (or other provider), Centralpoint gives you the convenience to request which features you would like turned on or off, depending on how much or little control you wish to grant your content editors. By default, most of these options are turned off, but we can easily turn them on. They include File Upload, Table Formatting, Alignment, Font, Color, Stylesheet controls, Find, Hyperlinking, Time/Date Formatting, Spellcheck, Flash, Video and other rich media upload support controls. Within the RTF Editor, users can easily toggle between the WYSIWYG View or HTML (which supports scripting).

• The Centralpoint Mobile Icons module was developed in response to our (VOC) Voice of Customer requesting their own, secure 'iTunes' store. In essence, our clients wanted to make mobile applications (multiple) available to their end user base. This took many months of study. Centralpoint's module icons allow for custom (secure) shortcuts to be made available to your users based upon their role. Additionally, when your users access and download the shortcut, their user information is tethered to the icon itself, allowing them to access the information they need (filtered by role) without ever having to log in again (if applicable). (based upon your rules governing cookies) . This progressive web application allows for certain content types, and sometimes forms and their submissions to be stored locally on the mobile device, should their be an interruption to connectivity or lack thereof. In this case, the locally stored data is uploaded when in range (of connectivity).
  
  Centralpoint's mobile icon module allows you to create the icons for each mobile accessible item (report, single page website, interactive, or even event based trigger). This module allows all of your members to download the things they are looking for every day, so that it is only the push of button to access. Generally, Data Sources is used as the 'payload' for the mobile report or webpage, but the Web API can be employed to serve secure web services (data from other systems) to these shortcuts as well.

• The Centralpoint ecommerce catalog features products including the variation of each product (Size, Style, Color), so that users may shop the catalog, add items to their cart and check out in a PCI compliant manner. Centralpoint eCommerce catalog has been integrated with PayPal, Authorize.Net, Bank of America, Worldpay and others to ensure seamless integration of payment for products online. The captured order information (found in eCommerce Orders) may be fed live to your fulfillment or inventory management systems, so that they can receive the trigger to ship each new product ordered within the catalog. 
  
  Centralpoint ecommerce may also allow for items added (from modules outside of the catalog) into a unified shopping cart. Some clients sell items beyond traditional products, like online training (learning), reports, and data. The eCommerce cart may interface with multiple catalogs within the same portal. • Centralpoint forms capture a result each time the form is submitted. These form results can be deleted in the client console, relative to any form. (Example, select form results, and you are free to delete all previously submitted forms). This tool is designed to assist clients who have collected data (in form results), which you may need to remove WITHOUT deleting the entire form result record (Example: Should you accidentally collect credit card or social security numbers within a form, when compliance does not allow that), you may need to eliminate ONLY  those values (credit card numbers or social security numbers) from each submission made over time. 
  
  You will need to first get the GUID of the Form itself (by opening that form in the console, then selecting (from the top right drop down list (Show/Hide Properties) and copying the DATA ID for that form. You would then enter in the ID of the field, that you wish to remove. Executing this tool will remove all instances of that field (only) from all results (submissions) against that form. 
  
  , This tool can be found under the Development section within the Client Console, under 'Utilities'. Log in the Client Console, click on development, and search for this tool within this page. You can also ask your production manager to turn on the 'Tools' section of your client console. When this is done, each tool will appear individually within the console, for easy access.

This problem was common when an edit mode link was used to link to the client console and the search keywords were changed without changing the fields or match.
  • The system replacement method used on collections of attributes or properties has been updated to use a case-insensitive replacement. This resolves issues that occur when the RTF editor alters the case of file paths in the client console preventing them from being properly replaced for display on the site.
  • The code on the front end of the site that verifies whether a document is in the current role and audience on the Details View (#3) has been updated to be more forgiving with imported lists of values stored in a single attribute. It now supports comma-space separated lists, comma separated lists, and audience id’s without console or web site accessibility specifiers.
  • Centralpoint now supports custom development within the Master/Root folder for clients hosting their own master console and developing My Modules. Files and folders created in the Master/Root folder, or any sub-folder, with the “my_” prefix will not be modified or removed by the update installation or sync processes.

• • Forms management items have been updated to support the removal of an items value manually from the control while still maintaining values on form pages that do not contain the control. Previously when a form control’s value was removed the previous value was remembered so that when the control didn’t exist on a page the value wouldn’t be lost. Now the value is removed when the control exists but is empty, but is retained when the control doesn’t exist at all.
  • The select command builder has been updated to include custom attributes.
  • A new Mobile Login feature has been added to the system and documented in the System Pages help file. It was designed to allow you to create a login form using CpScripting and forms management.
  • CpScripting has been updated to support Custom CpScripts in individual web sites and My CpScripts for clients with their own masters. This change has been documented in the Scripting help file located in the web site consoles. This enhancement includes changes related to how CpScripts are executed, form validators, and form pre-processors.

• Centralpoint's Global Login is a (Cross Forest) Single Sign-On tool that allows you to welcome each user in a unique way and grant them control over only certain types of content.  This allows you to authenticate each user to determine their roles, granting the right access to the right records, including the right Audience (landing page or design). Global Login allows you to welcome each user, yet return them to the appropriate channel within your site. Since every record in Centralpoint supports roles based filtering, this means everything from the design, to the navigation, to the records they can access are all managed automatically after they log in. 
  
  Oxcyon stresses 'Cross Forest' Single Sign On, as your users could be employees, customers, partners, affiliates, or even outsiders. Centralpoint's Global Login supports authentication with Active Directory, LDAP, LDAP-S, oAuth (Google, Twitter, Facebook), Salesforce, or even custom databases you may use to authenticate (IBM or Oracle). Upon each user's log in, Centralpoint will check any and all authentication sources to determine their role(s). A user may have only one role, or may have multiple roles, within multiple channels, allowing them access to many channels within your enterprise, or may even give them the option of where they want to go. 
  
  Centralpoint's Global Login also supports a new dimension in authentication known as Dynamic Roles. Here you may create very specific conditions beyond that of simple roles assignment. Example: Role may equal customer, but dynamic roles allows you to define any other criteria (like last year's sales >50K, or Gender=Male, or State=Ohio). Dynamic roles empowers you to narrowcast each record you manage to reach only the specific roles you need; which we believe is the pinnacle of highly personalized content. 
  
  Centralpoint additionally supports it's own Members Module, should you need to authenticate with users found in this module. Although many clients may use the Members module for all of their many members (even across multiple roles), the Centralpoint Members module may be used for public users who wish to sign up for enewsletters, or save their preferences when returning to the site. • Properly classifying data involves a multi-tiered ontology. This hierarchy comprises various levels, each defining the data's nature and context. Simultaneously, data is classified based on intended audiences or departments, tailoring content relevance. Adding another layer, data classification is influenced by security roles, ensuring access control.
  
  Imagine this as a three-dimensional matrix of classification: the first axis delineates the data's core ontology, dissecting it into intricate facets. The second axis bifurcates data for diverse audiences or departments, aligning content with their specific needs. Lastly, the third axis encompasses data classification based on security roles, safeguarding sensitive information from unauthorized access.
  
  In practice, this means each record is meticulously tagged with metadata, departmental relevance, and security clearance. This layered approach orchestrates a finely tuned orchestration of data, culminating in a harmonious symphony of contextualized, relevant, and secured information delivery.
  
  Another way to describe this MphC (or Multi Polyhiearchical Classification) would be "Multi-Dimensional Hierarchical Classification" or "Nested Hierarchical Classification" which refers to a classification structure that combines multiple levels or dimensions of hierarchies in different dimensions, creating a complex and multidimensional classification structure. Specifically within Centralpoint these three separate dimensions involve metadata, audience or departmental assignment and then security roles. Each of these selectors offers its own N-tiered, tree view of options allowing for all centralized information to cascade and reach each user, by audience, department, and security roles.   Another way to describe this classification structure could be "Multi-Dimensional Hierarchical Classification" or "Nested Hierarchical Classification." These terms highlight the idea that the classification system involves multiple layers of hierarchies that are interconnected and nested within each other. This conveys the complexity and depth of the classification approach you're describing.
  
  
  This results in a multi-tiered approach to managing your knowledge. It empowers you to distribute your information in a very granular way, to anyone (employees, clients, partners) from a singular, central point. Given that each multi selector is parental, this means that they are polyhierarchical (meaning more than tree, rather it considers the forest). Also, given that we employ three different (multi) selectors, it becomes Multi-Poly-Hierarchical. We didn't invent the term, it is simply what is called. The reason you may not have heard it before, is because we are the only vendor in the world to employ this architecture (fully, and to this level). It is also the only way that you will ever successfully centralize information within your organization, and with out it, will have to depend on multiple technology to simulate it.

• The average knowledge (office) worker uses it 13 hours a week, or 650 hours a year (assuming two weeks’ vacation),1 and yet email technology hasn’t changed much in the 20 years it’s been around—until now, with the introduction of the Centralpoint DITA eMail Portal, a patent pending DITA2 -based email interface by Oxcyon, Inc., a user experience platform (UXP) vendor as recognized by Gartner, Inc., a leading provider of technology research to global technology business leaders. The Oxcyon introduction is expected to help organizations recoup nearly half the time now spent by knowledge (office) workers sending and replying to emails.
  
  
  As the newest version of the Centralpoint UXP, the software validates user identity; unifies disparate email and enterprise content management silos; and delivers email via other third-party providers such as Microsoft Exchange, Google, Hotmail, Centralpoint’s secure email (whose message body does not leave the server), other custom systems, and SMTP. 
  
  The release of the Centralpoint DITA Mail Portal ensures that emails with elements (traditional or DITA-created files), when reopened, are current. For example, if a user authors a document, which includes a reference to a product and its price, and upper management changes the price of the product the next day, the document will be updated for the sender or recipient without anyone touching that document again. 
  
  By making possible the effective management of content and data access, and by serving as a central repository of references to third-party systems, the software enables time spent on emails to be slashed. Files and send/reply messages are assembled and authored leveraging DITA. Users can drag and drop data sources (bits of information) from Centralpoint and/or other systems to assemble and send emails using intuitive menus appearing in the email interface. This makes it possible for document updates and data sources to be tethered live to the author and recipients.  
  
  Furthermore, the menus are personalized for each user according to the user’s job function and role. These capabilities are expected to enhance ease-of-communication and facilitate greater collaboration within organizations. The software also provides standard responses for any situation and for international clients using their languages. Equipping users with the data elements they need to assemble new emails or error-free responses in seconds ensures governance over corporate communications, thus eliminating the need for a review process in most cases.
  
  “Our DITA assembly makes email the collaborative tool it should have always been,” declares Samuel Keller, Oxcyon founder, CEO, and inventor of the Centralpoint technology. “We’ve reinvented email to allow it to be an integral part of  knowledge management, instead of a left behind silo of valuable information.” 
  
  How does it work? It can be hosted on premise, or in the cloud and configured to work in unison with your current email. Although Centralpoint mail can work with multiple providers (Google, Yahoo, Aol, and even itself (as a secure mail provider), Microsoft Exchange 2007-2016 is the typically installation. Centralpoint acts as your employees' new central point of access to their mail. They simply log in, and begin managing their mail like they used to, but with multiple new advantages, saving them nearly 50% of the time they normally spend sending and responding to email. Centralpoint Email Portal also allows them to access exchange through any mobile device, including Apple iPad, and iPhone, without the need for any download from iTunes. Mobile app 'icons' can be downloaded directly from this solution to act as a shortcut to anyone's mail (also without the need for iTunes). This module suite is considered a separate server license and per user license fees based on access.
