Centralpoint Supported File Types (Transformation)

While Centralpoint natively supports modern formats such as PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HTML, and plain text without requiring additional tools, many other file types—such as microfiche, CAD drawings, email archives, and print stream formats—must first be converted into intermediary formats like PDF or directly into multipage TIFF files. These transformations typically involve tools like ABBYY, Ghostscript, AutoCAD, ImageMagick, and others, depending on the source format. Once converted to a suitable archival or OCR-ready format, these files can be indexed and processed through Centralpoint’s ingestion layer. This process ensures all content, regardless of origin or format, is unified under a single platform for metadata tagging, governance, compliance, and search. Centralpoint thus serves as the intelligent endpoint that consolidates disparate documents—old or new—into a centralized, searchable, and semantically enriched repository.
