Centralpoint Taxonomy

Centralpoint's Taxonomy module maintains a hierarchical list of your website's taxonomy, the library in which all classification types are managed. Taxonomy is intended to categorize a website's data and it may be filtered by  Audience . By default, all websites have a Root or Main Taxonomy item. Descendants of the Root Taxonomy item can be created uniquely within each website.

Centralpoint Taxonomy is an important and crucial module for your enterprise. It is the library in which all classification types are managed. Since Taxonomy can be unique and specific for each of your modules, the Taxonomy library empowers you to control classification for all of your various content types, as well as universally for your enterprise -- allowing relationships to exist between disparate records. Taxonomy is a hierarchical module, capable of supporting N-Tiered classifications for each and every module (content type). Taxonomy also is used to display "related" information within your site. For example, if a user searches and finds an article that covers automobiles, you might want to show related articles, products, or parts for sale on that type of automobile (let's say a Ford). Additionally, you may want to tag your article "Automotive" and "Ford," and even drill down to more specific automobile types, such as "Mustang" or "Sports Car." In essence, the deeper you can classify your information, the better and more relevant the content becomes to users. In this way, it will be easier for your users to find that obscure article on how to repair a 1964 Ford Mustang dashboard. (See also Module Properties and MphC.)
