Information Overload

Information overload refers to the existence of, and ease of access to, bewildering amounts of information, more than can effectively absorbed or processed by an individual. It often results in an obsessive addiction to new information in an attempt to clarify matters. This may induce a continual state of distraction which leads to loss of productivity and interrupts social activities. It is also known as Information fatigue syndrome and, more colloquially, as Infoglut or Datasmog.
